A defined route into US Soccer Scholarships
Progression Pathway
A direct, structured progression route from the 16–19 Programme into US Soccer Scholarships.
The 16–19 Programme is the first stage of a longer pathway, not a standalone two years. Players who progress well move into US Soccer Scholarships, with recruitment and placement support continuing where the programme leaves off.
Progression is based on how a player develops, academically and on the pitch, and we're direct with players and families about where they stand rather than promising a guaranteed outcome.
For those who do progress, the transition is a continuation, not a fresh start. Recruitment groundwork begins while a player is still on the programme, so there's no gap between finishing here and starting there.

How it works
- 01
Throughout the programme, a player's academic and football progress is tracked as the basis for a progression decision.
- 02
As the programme nears its end, EFC assesses whether a player is ready to move into US Soccer Scholarships.
- 03
Recruitment groundwork for players who are progressing begins while they're still on the 16–19 Programme, not after they finish.
- 04
Players and families are told directly where they stand, rather than left to assume progression is automatic.
