A college partnership model that puts academic study and elite football training on equal footing.
The hybrid model runs on a partnership between EFC and college education, rather than the two competing for a player's time.
The week is split clearly between structured academic time and structured football time. Players know what's expected of them in the classroom and on the pitch, and staff on both sides communicate, so neither part of the week comes as a surprise.
Players work toward recognised academic qualifications alongside their football. A player who doesn't progress to the professional or college game still leaves with a genuine outcome, not two years that only made sense if the football worked out.

How it works

EFC and the partner college agree a weekly structure that gives each side of the programme its own protected time.

Players attend academic sessions with the college's teaching staff and football sessions with EFC's coaching staff, on a shared timetable.

Staff from both sides communicate regularly, so a clash or concern on one side is visible to the other.
